These custom splinting methods may be short or long and progressive in nature according to injuries. They are not substituting but help us to get further functional level and healing. Hand therapists provide you with a customise splint that is appropriate for the type of injury you have.

Dry needling / IMS

Dry Needling or IMS (Intra muscular stimulation) reduce the pain from trigger points found in tight muscle. It can also be highly effective in stimulating tissue repair and reduced pain.

Dry needling uses needles to target specific muscles that can be contracted and shortened. These tight/short muscles can compress joints and nerves and cause pain or limited range of motion. Releasing trigger points by using dry needling can greatly reduce the tightness and pain and increase flexibility and range of motion.

Dry needling is helpful in:

  • Back and neck pain
  • Sciatic pain
  • Pelvic pain
